The museum is run entirely by volunteers. The work involved is both manual and office-based and includes:
• Maintaining the Pumphouse building and yard
• Restoring vehicles and other exhibits
• Making display cases and boards
• Serving refreshments
• Cataloguing and keeping records
• Conducting guided tours of the museum
• Organising events
• Publicising the museum
Volunteers work on tasks which they feel happy to do. You must be at least eighteen years old, otherwise there are no restrictions and anyone is eligible to apply, If you would like to help out by offering your time to this exciting project, please download the volunteering enquiry form here and email it to the volunteer coordinator.
The Friends of the Pumphouse Museum are people who wish to help in the work of the museum by making a financial contribution. This helps to pay for the on-going restoration work as well.
Friends are people who wish to help the museum by making a financial contribution. This goes towards the on-going restoration work as well as the numerous expenses of keeping the museum in existence.
Friends are also entitled to enter the museum, free of charge, on any organised Event Day. They receive an annual newsletter and are entitled to attend the Friends' AGM, usually held in the Summer.
